CMS 2018 Pharmacy and Medication: Complying with the Hospital CoPs and Proposed Changes (T6033)

Sue Dill Calloway, President
Patient Safety and Healthcare Education & Consulting

The price for this webinar is $295 per phone line.

This session will review the top problematic Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) pharmacy standards. CMS now issues a deficiency report showing when the pharmacy is in noncompliance. The CMS interpretive guidelines address medication management and pharmacy-related standards. These standards are reviewed when CMS conducts a compliance or validation survey. Medication errors make up the largest number of medical errors in health care today and are the most common reason for unnecessary readmissions to the hospital.

Nursing personnel should understand medication and pharmacy standards. These include medication errors, adverse events, drug incompatibilities, self-administered medication and required medication policies. This program will address these standards and how best to stay in compliance.
