Surgery is performed at various locations within the hospital including outpatient surgery, inpatient surgery, ambulatory surgical centers, the emergency department and various provider-based departments. In some instances, the process can become complicated when the hospital is billing not only the facility component, they are also billing the professional component for the physicians.
This workshop addresses establishing the chargemaster to address the different needs of hospitals relative to surgery and the associated observation and anesthesia services.
