Course Curriculum: Effective methodologies, including the use of tools, training, and technology, to reduce violence at the point of care. Methods to build a pro-active program focused on overall reductions in workplace violence. Point of care refers to the front line staff and interactions with patients, visitors, and other staff.

CoP’s, as well as AO standards, will be referred to in general, such as the patient’s right to receive care in a safe setting. In addition, the OSHA standard of a person’s right to work in a safe setting. We will also include guidance from our conversations with CMS and TJC regarding use of force and weapons.
